Privacy Notice and Terms
Welcome to TherapyinCheshire’s™ Therapy Agreement (brief - for the full version see the T's and C's page) and GDPR statement and policy. We apologise profusely for the length of this page – we think it’s really important to keep therapy as simple and least stressful as possible – however, we are required by law to make known our GDPR procedures, policies and by ethical standards to make our therapy terms clear and detailed. Please note that these form part of your agreement with Matt as your therapist. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to call, text or email Matt Valentine-Chase. Thank you.
We are GDPR compliant here at TherapyinCheshire™. We collect very little information, most is collected via Google analytics to assess website performance.

We receive, collect and store any information you enter on our website or provide us in any other way, such as your email address and telephone number. We also collect your purchase history and details added when paying via a third party payment processor. Namely: email address, physical address (where attached to your payment processor account), account (your) name and amount paid/to be paid and mobile number. We do not directly collect, store or see your card details as these are collected by the payment processor, a third party. We are not responsible for these details or how they are stored.
We may use software tools to measure and collect session information, including page response times, length of visits to certain pages, page interaction information, and methods used to browse away from the page. Although we do not directly store this information - it is stored by Google analytics - we advise, and use ourselves, a VPN for added peace of mind.

To have your details removed from them, you will need to email them directly. We can provide you with their details if you email us with this request.
We may at times create, update, store and share (see below) clinical notes or therapy notes. These are currently kept electronically and occasionally on paper. The paper notes are kept locked and are anonymised and cross referenced. The electronic notes are kept securely, encrypted and anonymously. Contact information is kept electronically and risk assessments are stored electronically in encrypted files. These do have identifying information such as your name, address, phone number and personal details regarding your reasons for therapy. Emails containing sensitive information are sent and received either using password protected documents or through the confidential email encryption service: Egress (www.egress.com) - please enquire for further information. Egress are fully GDPR compliant and TherapyInCheshire™ has a fully accessible Egress business account (this means that TherapyinCheshire™ pays for the service so that it is free for clients to use).

We will also share these details at your request - you will be required to sign a release form.

We will make it clear if your information is stored by third parties and what to do about this. There may be restrictions to what data we can delete. For example, where our insurance policy requires clinical notes are kept for a minimum time. Other restrictions may be required by applicable law.
If you would like to: access, correct, amend or delete any personal information we have about you, you are invited to contact us.
